The Best Foundations for Every Day Wear

Let's Face Mondays

Speaking of foundations… I’ve been a huge fan of CC creams as my everyday foundation since they emerged on the scene. In several posts, I endorsed Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream, which is for ‘normal people’… non-foundation people, who want a bit of finish. But, fall calls for a titch more polish for everyday life, so let’s look at some of the best foundations for everyday wear.

Each time, every time

Dolce&Gabbana The Primer Sheer Radiance Make Up Base (aka primer) is the ‘must-have’ for anyone. Period. Gives a gorgeous finish. Put any foundation, BB, or CC Cream over it and you’ll look more finished. According to Dolce&Gabbaa.com, the Primer is,

Enriched with precious extracts of Gold Silk Sericin, this radiance-enhancing formula perfects, illuminates and protects skin for a fresh, natural glow and a beautifully smooth, even texture while SPF30 protects from environmental damage.

Now onto the best for foundations for everyday wear:

Cover RX Custom Cover Drops: Depending on how you use these, you can create super-sheer coverage all the way to COMPLETE coverage. The Cover Drops is an extremely concentrated form of pigment made to mix with your SPF, your primer, or your daily moisturizer. If you want more coverage, use more of the product, or use it ‘straight’ with a tiny brush to dot it onto areas where you want the most coverage. FAIR WARNING: It also serves as a concealer, but when using it under your eyes, make sure you’re using  a superb eye cream. It’s not pretty if you don’t. ( I love Shiseido’s Beneficence WrinkleResist 24 Intensive Eye Cream.)

Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer: Another foundation that serves multiple functions. It provides a beautiful finish and great coverage; although the company does not recommend mixing it with your daily moisturizer, I do exactly that. It’s super concentrated, so a little goes a long way. Experiment with how much you need. You can always build coverage, but it’s tough to soften it after it’s on the skin.

Clinique Perfecting Foundation

Dolce&Gabbana Perfect Reveal Lifting Foundation, SPF 25: I like the other two already mentioned, but this foundation is my favorite. It’s ideal for a more mature person, or anyone with very dry skin. Every time I wear it, I receive compliments on my skin. Plus, I love the added treatment benefit.

D&G Lifting Foundation

Closing remarks:

I am compelled to remind you that any foundation looks better on well-maintained skin. Ya’ know, cleanser, toner, moisturizer, etc. Don’t forget to exfoliate regularly (especially during winter months) and wear sunscreen EVERY.  Freaking.  Day.
